The file or folder already exists on OneDrive [WORKAROUNDS].
After deselecting a folder from the list of folders you choose to sync, you may see an error: 'The file or folder already exists on OneDrive.'
Workaround options:
Option 1: Delete it from the PC.
Note: It’s safe to delete it because it’s still available in OneDrive online. If you don’t want to have the folder in OneDrive and only have the folder on your PC, move the folder out of the PC’s OneDrive folder (see option 2).
Option 2: Remove the file or folder from OneDrive.
Note: With the file included in selective sync, move the folder to another place outside the OneDrive folder structure. This will delete the files and folder from OneDrive.com and make them only available on your PC.

Hints and tipsFollow these hints and tips to get the most out of your OneDrive and to make sync as trouble-free as possible. Update to the latest version of OneDrive
OneDrive and Windows are frequently updated and keeping your PC up-to-date can help sync problems.
Only sync what you need
OneDrive Files On-Demand helps you access all your files in OneDrive without having to download all of them and use storage space on your device. Learn more about OneDrive Files On-Demand.
You can also download or sync fewer files by choosing which OneDrive folders to sync to your computer.
Note: You won't lose files or data by disabling, uninstalling or unlinking OneDrive on your computer. You can always access your files by signing in to your OneDrive account online.
Check you're not syncing too many files
If OneDrive sync seems to be stuck for a long time or the status shows 'Processing 0KB of xMB' it could be because you have a lot of files in your OneDrive or a lot of new files to be uploaded. If you have more than 100,000 files, sync can take a long time.
Note: For transferring large files or lots of files, we recommend adding the files to the OneDrive desktop app rather than the using Upload button on the website.
To see how many files you have in your OneDrive:
If the sync is already in process, you can Pause and Resume your sync to get things going again.
Mark files as Offline in mobile devices
You can mark files as 'offline' in OneDrive on your mobile device to read them anytime, even when you aren't connected to the Internet. Online edits made to the files sync the next time you connect to the Web, so you get the latest version of the file.
Note: Files marked offline are read-only - you can edit the file only when you're online. If you edit the file offline, it saves as a new file, and does not change the original OneDrive file.
Learn how to Read files offline in OneDrive for Android or Read files offline in OneDrive for iOS.
Make sure you stay within the storage limit
Check and compare the size of your OneDrive storage to the available disk space on your PC. If you don't have enough space on your OneDrive or your PC, you will have to move or delete some files, or reduce the number of files and folders.
If you don't have enough space on your OneDrive, you can:

So I am a scientist and keep my data backed up locally and through my one drive (3 tb harddrive as a data vault where I put things I am 'done' with or have a solid backup, and 1 tb one-drive space I use to sync data I am working on between my workstations). I deal with massive files so this is very helpful.
However, I recently noticed that onedrive keeps uploading large amounts of data, or downloading it, even though I haven't made any changes. I came home from a 10 day trip, booted up my machine, and it suddenly said it had to upload 10 gigs of files. This was especially disturbing as I hadn't used this computer station in even longer, and all of the most recent versions were on my other workstation. This computer had been on while I worked on the other computer so ostensibly the versions on this computer should have been the ones uploaded by the other computer.
I am very worried that the files I have worked on (large files which require extensive processing/deconvolution) are being rewritten and I don't know (absent going through the hundreds and hundreds of files) which ones are the ones I should be concerned about. My recent file list in onedrive doesn't include any of these files, but nevertheless the onedrive icon says 'uploading 1 file, XYZ mb out of 1.6 gigs remaining.' This has happened a lot, and enough to make me very concerned.
Stop Onedrive Popups
Is there any way to view what files are or were uploaded and from where and what time?
Thanks, -A very concerned scientist
Microsoft Onedrive Popup

I have OneDrive disabled from starting when turning on my PC as I don't use it, but for some reason it started to pop up when I work with some programs and browse files. I'm not sure how to explain this properly, but for example when I click 'insert media file' in a program and a new window opens up where I can browse through files, this also pops up:
http://imgur.com/YCeeRUT Apart from that OneDrive appears in the tray. If I close it in tray and repeat the process it opens up again. It happens with other programs too, so it's not the programs fault. How can I block it? It started one day all of a sudden, probably due to some Windows update. Comments are closed.
